Company history - key people

A family business offering an unrivalled rage of products and exceptional levels of service.

The Safe Hands Group was originally founded by Sue Smith 25 years ago as a private agency providing domestic help to allow elderly people to remain in their own homes.

The company later expanded into the mobility equipment sector and now has two Mobility Centres in Kent based in Folkestone and Birchington.

Safe Hands Mobility now operates as a separate division but is still family owned and run, with Sue Smith as a non-executive director, and Neil Smith in overall charge as Managing Director.

In February 2011 we took the commercial decision to close our Ashford branch due to the reduced foot flow caused by the changes to the Ashford ring road. This has enabled us to increase our range of products held at our Folkestone branch as well as invest in a new, purpose built mobility shop in Birchington which opened on Monday 9th May 2011 in Albion Road, Birchington.
